Working between Rome and Milan, Massimiliano works with video, drawings and installations. His unique approach to image making means his drawings are always dymanic and bursting with spontaneous energy. He has recently collaborated with number of exciting publishers including F.L.T.M.S.T.P.C, Kaugummi, Sleephold publications, Frederic magazine, False flag, Famicon express and Landfill editions. In 2006 Massimiliano founded his own small publishing house RAWRAW Edizioni, releasing a selection of unique publications and editions.

• For the people who don't know your work - how would you describe it ?


• Basically like a routine of form's reproductions, lines, brush, always thinking to new forms to add in a mix sense of "media" connections, paper, internet, video.

• What are the key themes running through your practice?


• A shining blue worm in the sunset.

• Your favorite place on earth?


• Everything changes. sweating ice under the sun.

• What influences your work?


• In a general way a sober "mood", Alessandro Mendini and ten/twelve illustrated books about nature like FRUIT PESTS. I always start from it. LINK

• What music are you into right now?


• I always work in silence, but i really love Mad Professor and Dylan Ettinger.

• Describe your thought & design process...


• Everytime is different, sometimes i start from an e_mail…..my work is not methodic (most of the time)but it's fast for repetition. I always return on the same things to add something or i destroy it, i trash a lot, i trust in "delete" style, generally i work when i have a specific project, sketching is fun but i'm not into right now.

• Which emerging artists are you looking forward to seeing more of?


• In this time i'm near to the work made by Michele Manfellotto, Federico Proietti and Emanuele Marcuccio and i think that it will be strong day after day.
